Functional Medicine Expert practitioner • Specialized in genetics, epigenetics, neuroscience and advanced functional diagnostics
Rose van der Blom is a Functional Medicine practitioner with nearly two decades of academic and clinical experience, specializing in genetics, epigenetics, and neuroscience. She is the founder of DNA Care, her private practice, and serves as director of an Integrative Health Center in the Netherlands. In addition, she sees patients at the Center for Integrative Medicine in Amsterdam (AIGA) and is a frequent speaker at international conferences and professional seminars.
Her passion for integrative health was sparked early in life, after recovering from a traumatic neck injury and a pituitary tumor. This personal journey continues to inspire her work today, as she helps others access the insight and support they need to heal and thrive.
Rose earned advanced qualifications in Functional Medicine (SAFM, summa cum laude), Functional Nutrition (FxNA), Advanced Herbal Medicine, Classical Homeopathy, and EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). She was personally mentored by EFT Master and psychotherapist Carol Look.
Rose studied Classics at the University of Amsterdam, a rigorous academic discipline that continues to inform her structured and integrative approach to clinical care. She is currently completing a second degree in Health and Medical Law, with the intention to advocate for patient rights and uphold ethical standards in healthcare alongside her clinical work.
As part of her advanced training in Functional Medicine, Rose completed clinical specializations in a wide range of complex, systems-based conditions. These include:
• Autoimmune and chronic inflammatory disorders
• Gastrointestinal health and microbiome science
• Methylation and biotransformation pathways
• Endocrine disorders (including adrenal, thyroid, and sex hormone regulation)
• Cardiovascular disease and lipid metabolism
• Metabolic dysfunction
• Reproductive endocrinology and fertility
• Neurobiology of mood and cognition
• Nutritional biochemistry and clinical supplementation
• Functional blood chemistry interpretation
• Interpretation of advanced functional laboratory diagnostics (including integration into individualized therapeutic strategies)
Her work is further informed by a strong academic interest in epigenetics and its influence on long-term health outcomes.
“It’s my mission to bring this important body of work to as many people as possible—so that they too can find freedom from the conditions that hold them back from living their full potential. Epigenetics reveals that gene expression is dynamic, and that health is influenced by how these regulatory processes unfold over time. Restored health creates the freedom to live in alignment with your deepest values and highest purpose.”
